For love of the granny square

A few weeks ago, I made a little checklist for the wintry days. I thought I would share the little bit of progress I made on crocheting myself a scarf.

Over the new year, I finally bought some crochet hooks and yarn. If you were wondering, I'm a total newbie to crochet/knitting. The closest I'd ever come to a slipknot was on the stereo. It was all new to me. One night over at Katie's house, I borrowed a book and got down to business learning how to crochet.

I think I spent more time laughing at myself than I did actually crocheting. Poor Katie had to endure endless questions even though she's more into knitting than crochet.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and youtube videos later, and I've finally crocheted a few granny squares!

They aren't perfect but they are still so pretty. I can't wait to turn them into a scarf.
